Stan is equally comfortable with complex technologies and complicated business strategies. He has designed leading-edge applications for hundreds of clients. Stan is a published book author and magazine columnist, and a noted public speaker who has lectured to over 10,000 software developers in the United States and Europe at industry events like VSLive! and Microsoft's Tech·Ed. He authored a pioneering work on structured development standards ('Using Consistent Naming Conventions') that has appeared on Microsoft Developer Network and in over a dozen books and is used by more than half a million application developers worldwide (see one usage poll here). Stan is on the Board of Advisors or Board of Directors of many progressive companies including OneAccord, iCopyright, and Drivewire. He is a co-founder and/or charter member of several non-profit industry and business organizations, including Northwest Entrepreneur Network and Washington Software Association. Stan is a native of Seattle, where he resides with his wife Joan and three children. He graduated from Western Washington University with a Business degree and Computer Science minor. He is an avid global vagabond and has wandered around 52 foreign countries with a backpack on.
